Mass Immolation

Hail and well met travellers.
Welcome to the 8th day in Norway and Unlike my welcome to you now, we ourselves did not do much to welcome this particular day and slept in until 10. But it was ok because we only had one goal for the day: We planned to assault the largest of the mountains surrounding Bergen – Mt. Fløyen.


This will also be very short compared to the most of the other megathreads because there isn’t really a whole lot to do in Bergen that we didn’t already do yesterday, but I digress; We strolled on out of the Basic Hotel and headed on across to Bryggen again (It was only 5 mins walk from our house) in search of some kind of fuel.

The 3 musketeers climbed wearily out of bed on an overcast Norwegian Sunday afternoon. We dined on terrible complimentary breakfast buffet and noticed how the hallways air-conditioning smelled like someone had left an iron on too long.

Hopeful yet for an all consuming fire, we told nobody about the smell and jumped back into Tor for a short drive over to our first (and most certainly not last) ever ferry ride in Norway! Our destination? - Neverdalsfjellet. A 700 meter tall mountain peak boasting one of the (non official) wonders of the natural world: Preikestolen. A gigantic cliff with more than a 600 meter sheer drop to the ground. Motherfucking mountain climbing time.

So here we are again. This time, the destination is brothers Sweden and Norway and the mode of transport is rental car. We also have an extra participant this time, our driver and my old friend from Australia who prefers to be referred to by his surname “Russo”.
Russo arrived in Finland and we dicked around for the remainder of the day and prepared ourselves for the trip at hand.
